The M7275S-2SFBA provides a reliable way to extend 10/100Mbps Ethernet beyond the distance limitations of copper cabling. The converter connects a standard RJ45 Ethernet network to a single-mode fiber link and supports transmission distances up to 20 kilometers.
Unlike conventional fiber media converters that require separate fiber strands for transmit and receive, the M7275S-2SFBA uses different optical wavelengths to transmit and receive data over one single-mode fiber strand.
The M7275S-2SFBA uses 1550nm for transmission and 1310nm for reception and is designed to operate with the complementary M7275S-2SFAA converter, which uses the opposite wavelength configuration.

The M7275S-2SFBA features a shielded RJ45 copper port supporting 10Mbps and 100Mbps Ethernet. The copper interface provides auto-negotiation for speed and duplex and can also be configured for forced operating modes when manual configuration is required.
Auto MDI/MDI-X detection simplifies installation by automatically accommodating straight-through and crossover Ethernet connections.
The fiber interface operates at 100Mbps full-duplex and includes far-end fault detection to help identify problems with the remote fiber connection.
Reliable Network Monitoring and Fault Detection
The M7275S-2SFBA incorporates several features designed to simplify installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Link Fault Pass-Through helps communicate link failures between the copper and fiber sides of the connection, while Far End Fault Detection helps identify problems at the remote end of the fiber link.
