The VERSITRON M7280 converts 10/100/1G/10G Ethernet signals from copper twisted-pair cabling to 10Gbps fiber through an SFP+ interface. The copper port supports Cat5e or higher UTP cable up to 100 meters, while the 10G SFP+ slot provides flexible fiber connectivity using the appropriate SFP+ transceiver.
This architecture allows organizations to extend high-speed Ethernet networks over fiber without replacing existing copper-connected equipment.
