HD-SDI Video to Fiber System Features
The HDSDI-11 provides the features required for reliable HD-SDI transmission over fiber optic cable:

How HD-SDI Video to Fiber Transmission Works
The HDSDI-11 system uses a transmitter and receiver connected by a fiber optic link.
The transmitter accepts the HD-SDI video signal through a 75-ohm BNC input and converts the signal for optical transmission. The transmitter also provides a local SDI output for monitoring. At the opposite end of the fiber link, the receiver converts the optical signal back to HD-SDI for connection to a monitor, DVR, or other video equipment.
The system also provides RS-485 return data from the receiver toward the transmitter. RS-485 data is supported at rates up to 300 Kbps.
This makes the HDSDI-11 useful for installations where high-definition video and return control data need to travel between two locations over fiber.
HD-SDI Fiber Optic SFP Options
The HDSDI-11 uses interchangeable fiber optic SFP modules, allowing the system to be configured for different fiber types and transmission distances.
Required fiber optic SFP modules are sold separately. This allows the appropriate optical module to be selected based on the application's fiber type, wavelength, connector configuration, and required transmission distance.

HD-SDI Video Interfaces
The HDSDI-11 uses standard BNC video connections and LC optical connections.
The transmitter provides one HD-SDI input and one local video output, while the receiver provides two HD-SDI video outputs for connection to monitoring or recording equipment. The system uses 75-ohm BNC video interfaces.

Standalone or Rackmount Installation
The HDSDI-11 can be deployed as a standalone transmitter and receiver system or installed in a centralized FVC18 18-slot rackmount chassis.
The hot-pluggable design allows modules installed in the FVC18 chassis to be replaced without powering down the chassis, simplifying maintenance and system expansion.
This provides flexibility for both individual HD-SDI fiber links and larger video transmission installations.
