The appropriate 10G SFP module depends primarily on the fiber type and required transmission distance.

The 10GBMM uses 850nm optics and is designed for multimode fiber. It supports:

• 62.5µm multimode fiber: up to 30 meters
• 50µm multimode fiber: up to 80 meters
• OM3 multimode fiber: up to 300 meters

Multimode 10G SFPs are generally suited to shorter-distance connections within buildings, data centers, equipment rooms, and campus environments.

VERSITRON offers three singlemode 10G SFP options for progressively longer transmission distances:

• 10GB10SM: 10 km
• 10GB40SM: 40 km
• 10GB80SM: 80 km
