1000Base SFP Module for 10km Singlemode Fiber

The VERSITRON GB10SFA is a 1000Base SFP module designed to extend Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over singlemode fiber distances up to 10 kilometers.

The module uses 1310nm for transmission and 1550nm for reception, providing complementary wavelength operation with the GB10SFB. This makes the GB10SFA an effective solution for long-distance Gigabit Ethernet links where singlemode fiber connectivity is required.

According to the VERSITRON Fiber Optic SFP Modules datasheet, the GB10SFA provides 1000Mbps operation over 10km of singlemode fiber with an LC connector and is rated for operation from 0°C to 70°C.

Long-Distance 1Gbps Fiber Connectivity

The GB10SFA combines Gigabit Ethernet performance with a 10km singlemode fiber reach, allowing network designers to extend Ethernet connectivity well beyond the distance limitations of copper cabling.

Its LC fiber interface provides straightforward integration with compatible SFP-enabled network switches, media converters, and other fiber networking equipment.

The VERSITRON datasheet lists both modules as 1000Mbps, 10km singlemode SFPs with LC connectors, with their transmit and receive wavelengths reversed.

For a complementary wavelength connection, install the GB10SFA at one end and GB10SFB at the opposite end of the fiber link.

Industry-Standard SFP Design

The GB10SFA uses an industry-standard Small Form Pluggable (SFP) design with an LC fiber connector. VERSITRON SFP modules incorporate differential LVPECL inputs and outputs, a single 3.3V power supply, a TTL signal detect indicator, and hot-pluggable operation.

The modules also use a Class 1 laser compliant with EN 60825-1.
