1000Base SFP Module for 80km Singlemode Fiber

The VERSITRON GB80SFA is a 1000Base SFP module designed to provide reliable Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over singlemode fiber distances up to 80 kilometers.

Operating at 1310nm for transmission and 1550nm for reception, the GB80SFA is designed to work with its complementary GB80SFB module to establish a bidirectional fiber connection using the corresponding transmit and receive wavelengths.

The 80km transmission capability makes the GB80SFA well suited for long-distance network infrastructure where Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth must be extended between locations separated by significant distances.

Long-Distance 1Gbps Fiber Connectivity

The GB80SFA combines 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet performance with an 80km singlemode fiber reach, providing a solution for long-distance network connections.

The module uses an LC connector and supports the standard SFP form factor, making it suitable for compatible switches, media converters, and other fiber networking equipment that accepts 1000Base SFP modules.

The VERSITRON SFP datasheet specifies the GB80SFA at 1000Mbps with 1310nm transmit, 1550nm receive, singlemode fiber, 80km distance, LC connectivity, and 0–70°C operating temperature.

GB80SFA and GB80SFB: Complementary 80km SFP Modules

The GB80SFA and GB80SFB are complementary wavelength versions designed for long-distance fiber connectivity.

The VERSITRON datasheet lists both modules at 1000Mbps, 80km, singlemode fiber, LC connector, -2 to +3 dBm TX power, and < -26 dBm RX sensitivity.

For a complementary wavelength link, the GB80SFA is installed at one end and the GB80SFB at the opposite end. The modules' transmit and receive wavelengths are complementary, allowing bidirectional communication over the fiber connection.

The GB80SFA uses an industry-standard Small Form Pluggable (SFP) form factor with an LC fiber connector. VERSITRON SFP modules feature hot-pluggable operation, a single 3.3V power supply, TTL signal detection, and differential LVPECL inputs and outputs.

The module also uses a Class 1 laser compliant with EN 60825-1.
