Extend POTS Telephone Service Over Fiber

The PK1M-RM POTS-to-fiber converter installation kit provides a practical solution for extending analog telephone service over multimode fiber. It is designed for applications where telephone equipment needs to be connected across a fiber optic link rather than directly over copper telephone cabling.

The FXO unit is installed at the exchange or PBX side, while the FXS unit is installed at the subscriber or telephone side of the connection.

FXO and FXS POTS Interfaces

The PK1M-RM provides one FXO interface and one FXS interface for a single POTS telephone connection.

This configuration provides a point-to-point analog telephone connection over fiber.

Multimode Fiber Transmission

The PK1M-RM uses multimode duplex fiber with a fiber transmission capability of up to 2 km. This makes it suitable for extending POTS service between separated buildings, facilities, equipment rooms, or other locations where fiber is used for communications infrastructure.

All units in the 1-channel POTS converter family use LC optical connectors.

Rack-Mount POTS Fiber Installation
