The capability for providing synchronous, isochronous, and asynchronous data transmission can be found in 3 of VERSITRON'S product series. In choosing these products, any of the above data transmission protocols are possible.

If you need a small, compact solution, VERSITRON'S MicroModem Series 6000 or 8000 may be the answer. Available in both single mode and multimode fiber, these modems allow synch., asynch., isoch. transmission (source timed or terminal timed) at speeds from 1bps to 76.8 kbps with fully transparent operation. To further assure accuracy in source timing applications, the clock and data are re-aligned in a unique source timing circuit.

VERSITRON'S Model F2800 Group Low Speed Fiber Modems will also do synch./asynch./isoch. transmission with the option of full duplex, half-duplex or simplex transmission at speeds up to 76.8 kbps at distances up to 15 km with fully transparent operation. These modems are manufactured in a FOM II format and are fully compatible with the M6000 M8000 MicroModem series. These modems support RS-232, RS-449, RS-530, MIL-188C, MIL-188-114.

Other products in the FOM II series format with synch., isoch., async. capabilities are the F2200 modems. These products have transmission speeds to 10Mbps with distances of 15 km with fully transparent operation. Supporting RS-422, RS-423, RS-530 or MIL-STD-188-114 interfaces, these modems multiplex clock and data signals. For high-speed synchronous operation, the first channel is used for data and the second is used for the transmit clock. Both channels may be used for data in low speed asynchronous operation, typically at less than 100kbps. The F2200 modems can operate in automatic, forced asynch., or forced synch. modes.

Other asynch. products include the F2900 Group Dual Channel Isolators and the 4-wire telephone modems. Two different versions of the Dual Channel Isolators are available: One transmitter module with two data channels, and one receiver module with two data channels. The ultimate in secure applications, these modems transmit and receive in one direction only. They are data agile (any frequency) for 250 bps to 10Mbps, and permit clocking and resynchronizing of encryption equipment from a remote location.

The F272X 4-wire telephone modems provide full duplex secure voice communication at distances up to 15 km with fully transparent operation. These products simultaneously transmit and receive analog signals to and from remote locations, using proprietary digital coding and multiplexing techniques.

Other synch. products include the F2300 DS3 Interface Extenders and the F2400 Group T1 & E1 Interface Extenders.
