The M82xxD MicroModem Series from VERSITRON allows for transparent fiber optic transmission of data, clock, and control signals. These micro modems offer continuously variable, synchronous or asynchronous data transmission at speeds ranging from 1 bps to 128 Kbps, with full duplex or simplex mode of operation.

RS-232 Interface Industrial Fiber Optic Modem

The M82xxD modems are equipped with RS-232 interface, RS-423, and MIL-STD-188-114A (Unbalanced) handshaking control signals. The modems use a multiplexing technique to combine the control signals, clock, and data signals into a single signal which is then transmitted to the remote unit. At the remote end, the signal is de-multiplexed and applied to the electrical interface, which can be a DB25F (DCE) for terminal (DTE) interface or a DB25M (DTE) for modem (DCE) interface. The fiber interface uses LC connectors as standard.

These industrial fiber optic micromodems are compact enough to be installed directly onto communication equipment and data terminals. With full transparency, the modems provide versatile solutions for data communication needs. Additionally, they support RS-232 full duplex communication.
