Fiber Optic Modems

VERSITRON fiber optic modems provide fully transparent point-to-point copper-to-fiber conversion. Styles available include our FOM II Series and our MicroModem Series. Multimode or single mode modems are available with standard ST optical connectors. Transmission distances vary and will depend on the type of signal being converted and the link budget between the modems.

FOM II

VERSITRON FOM II modems provide conversion for either data and/or analog links. Standalone enclosures or rack mount chassis offer complete flexibility for installation options.
Minimum requirements: 2 modems (per link), enclosures and/or chassis, power adapters or supplies.

MicroModem Series

VERSITRON MicroModems provide conversion for data links in a compact design. Measuring only 2.5″ H x 1″ W x 4.5″ L, these modems are self-contained and are also available with EMI/RFI suppression. A 16-slot chassis is available for rack mount applications. Minimum requirements: 2 modems (per link), chassis (for rack mount applications), power adapters or supplies.

Versimux FIBER OPTIC MULTIPLEXER

Versimux is a versatile fiber optic multiplexer system that allows data and/or analog signals to be combined into one signal in a single plug-in chassis with power supplies and a Channel Allocation Master (CAM) multiplexer card. Signals are multiplexed and transmitted together over multimode or single mode fiber cable. ST optical connectors are standard.
Minimum requirements: 2 chassis, 2 Channel Allocation Master Cards, 4 Power Supplies, 2 Port Cards.

Elastic Buffer: Local Distribution Phaser

The VERSITRON LDPC-16 Elastic Buffer provides buffering between receive clock and local clock signals which compensate for phase shift or frequency drift between the two signals. Buffer capacity ranges from ±1024 to ±16,384 data bits.
Minimum requirements: 1 LDPC16 Chassis, 1 LDP4 Phaser Card, 1 LDP4HI Interface Card.

Clock Distribution System

The VERSITRON Clock Distribution System CDS-20 is an upgrade of the CDS-10. In its standard configuration, the system generates 155 different clock frequencies and has the ability to distribute up to 84 different frequencies at one time. Utilizing external reference oscillators, the system provides frequencies with typical stability of one part in 1012. (Stratum I).
Minimum requirements: 1 Chassis, 2 Power Supplies, 1 Reference Module, 1 Master Divider Card, 1 Line Driver Card.
