VERSITRON (FOM II) modems/converters are available in many different types and configurations thus meeting most application demands. These modems convert digital and analog signals into light signals for transmission over fiber optic cable, compatible modems/converters at the receiving end re-convert the light signals. All VERSITRON modems provide fully transparent operation with data, clock, and common control signals automatically multiplexed. Operation is synchronous, asynchronous, isochronous, or a combination with simplex and/or fully duplex transmission at speeds as high as 45 Mbps and distances as much as 30 km with multimode or singlemode options. Modems allow signal conversion over fiber optic links; i.e.RS-232, T1, E1, DS3, RS-485 .....etc.

If you are looking for all of the above characteristics in a smaller package, the MicroModem series may be just what you need. VERSITRON's MicroModems provide for reliable transmission and reception in a compact package. As interface extenders or modem links, MicroModems allow synchronous/asynchronous/isochronous/full duplex transmission at speeds from 1 bps to 76.8 kbps with fully transparent operation. A signal may be transmitted as far as 15 km on fiber optic cable. This series also supports the full set of control signals associated with RS-232 or RS-530 standards. Available packaging includes either EMI/RFI suppressed or commercial. In addition to functioning as fully transparent fiber optic links, VERSITRON's MicroModems may also be used as multiplexers. As many as six asynchronous data streams may be accommodated by one MicroModem. Small enough to connect directly to data terminal and communications equipment, VERSITRON's MicroModems offer versatile solutions and data transparent operations.

In the lan networking department, VERSITRON offers an array of media converters and fiber optic switches. You can find 10/100 "Double Duty" media converters, 10/100/1000 "Triple Duty" media converters, 1000Base-T gigabit, and a single fiber converter. Fiber optic switches include 5 port, 6 port, 8 port, 16/24 port, and a "Pick a Port" Modular switch. GBIC module technology and web based management are featured on most.
