V.35 fiber interface solutions by VERSITRON, Inc. can be found in 3 product series. They are the MicroModem series M6000, the Model F2800's and Model F223X High Speed Modems. All three of these models allow for synchronous/asynchronous/isochronous full duplex, half-duplex or simplex data transmission at speeds up to 76.8 kbps, at distances to 30 km over single mode fiber using the V.35 interface. All the benefits of fiber optics apply including security, greater bandwidth, immunity to EMI/RFI, isolation and low signal attenuation.
The M6000 MicroModems operate in either source-timing or terminal-timing modes. In the source-timing mode, a clock and data resynchronization circuit eliminates loop delay and inverted clock signals. DCE and DTE copper interfaces with ST optical interfaces are available. V.35 and RS-449 standards may be configured with adapters.
In addition to functioning as fully transparent fiber optic data links, VERSITRON'S MicroModems may also be used as multiplexers. Up to six asynchronous data streams may be accommodated by one MicroModem.
The F2800 group modems can also accommodate the V.35 interface standard. These modems are offered in many different configurations to meet a wide variety of fiber optic sets and link budgets. They are available with ST optical connectors in both short wavelengths (850 nm) and long wavelengths (1300 nm) for multimode fiber. Single mode 1300nm longwave is also available.
The F223X series operates as two-channel multiplexer/modems. For high-speed synchronous operation, the first channel is used for data and the second is used for the transmit clock. Local and remote modems can be set to operate in different modes. This permits operation in one direction. Two stand-alone enclosures and 2-and 20-card rack-mount chassis configurations are available for the modems.
