The RS-530 fiber optic point to point products provide fully transparent operation with data, clock and common control signals automatically multiplexed. VERSITRON offers data rates to 10 Mbps, Distances to 30 km, Choice of multimode or singlemode, and standalone or rack-mount enclosures.
VERSITRON'S M6000 series MicroModems provide reliable fiber-optic data transmission and reception in a compact package. As interface extenders or modem links, MicroModems allow synchronous/asynchronous/isochronous full duplex transmission at speeds from 1 bps to 76.8 Kbps with fully transparent operation. A signal that has a maximum operating distance of 50 feet on copper cable may be transmitted 15 km (18.75 mi./49,500 ft) on fiber-optic cable.
The M6000 (RS-530, RS-422, RS-423, MIL-STD-188-114 Balanced) Series MicroModems operate in either source-timing or terminal-timing modes. In the source-timing mode, a clock and data resynchronization circuit eliminates loop delay and inverted clock signals. All units are specified with a 20db link margin at a bit error rate of 10 to the minus 9th. Both series support the full set of control signals associated with RS-232 or RS-530 Standards. DCE and DTE copper interfaces with ST optical interfaces are available. There are two types of packaging: Standard, EMI/RFI suppressed.
VERSITRON'S MicroModems may also be used as multiplexers. Up to six asynchronous data streams may be accommodated by one MicroModem. VERSITRON FOM II F2800 group fiber optic modems support RS-232, RS-449, RS-530, MIL-188C, MIL-188-114 and are offered in many different configurations to meet a wide variety of fiber optic sets and link budgets. To accomodate quick, low cost system expansion and/or changes, F2800 group modems incorporate unique Xilinx programmable QFP's, CMOs thin quad flat packs. The sample rate of the data channels is 300 KHz, control channels are sampled to 18 KHz.
F2800 group modems also incorporate internal ( 18 discrete frequencies, switch selectable) and external (data agile, any frequency, 0 to 76.8 Kbps) clock option, remote/local switch to loop CTS internal, a loopback switch for troubleshooting the data link, and LED status indicators. Interchangeable fiber optic modules are field replaceable to permit quick, convenient upgrades as system requirements change or grow.
