VERSITRON'S RS-232 fiber optic modems provide fully transparent operation with data, clock, and common control signals automatically multiplexed. VERSITRON offers data rates to 100 kbps, distances to 30 km, and choice of multimode or singlemode, standalone or rackmount chassis.
Two formats are available: MicroModem (compact size, self-contained and FOM II (circuit card with chassis/enclosure).
VERSITRON'S M8000 Series MicroModems provide reliable fiber optic data transmission and reception in a compact package. As interface extenders or modem links, MicroModems allow synchronous/asynchronous/isochronous full duplex transmission from 1 bps to 76.8 kbps with fully transparent operation. This series operates in either source-timing or terminal-timing modes. DCE and DTE copper interfaces with ST optical interfaces are available. There are two types of packaging: Standard and EMI/RFI suppressed.
VERSITRON'S MicroModems may also be used as multiplexers. Up to six asynchronous data streams may be accommodated by one MicroModem. Small enough to connect directly to data terminal and communications equipment, VERSITRON'S MicroModems offer versatile solutions and complete transparency for data communications.
VERSITRON'S FOM II F2800 fiber optic modems support a wide variety of interfaces and are offered in many different configurations to meet a wide variety of fiber optic sets and link budgets. To accommodate quick, low cost system expansion and/or changes, F2800 group modems incorporate unique Xilinx programmable QFPs, CMOS thin quad flat packs. Data channel rate--300 KHz. Control channel rate--18 KHz.
VERSITRON F2900 Group dual channel isolators are designed for passing telemetry, clock, data, or any async or serial data stream. These isolators are available with different electrical interfaces to accommodate existing systems through jumper selection. The isolators may be used in any FOM II enclosure.
Other VERSITRON products include: T1/E1 modem, f.o. modems for a variety of other interfaces (RS-530, RS-485, RS-422, RS-449, DS3 etc.), multiplexers, telephone modems, and an extensive line of media converters, f.o. switches, and video transceivers.
Of special interest among these other products is the RS-485 TeleData fiber optic modem. Use it as a telephone interface, use it as a data interface, or use it as both. The F270X/F271X is capable of transmitting both voice and data signals simultaneously over one f.o. cable. Available in both multimode and single mode, this product can accommodate distances to 30 km.
